S. Sudan army fights off Khartoum army
[Daily Nation (Kenya)] South Sudan has expelled the invading Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) from the border town of Jau in the oil-rich Unity state after heavy fighting,
... as opposed to the more usual light or sporadic fighting...
the army front man said.

Colonel Philip Aguer told journalists that Jau fell to the South Sudan army on Thursday night after his army "overwhelmingly" thrashed the SAF in a series of fierce battles.

"SPLA is controlling Jau and the SAF forces have been pushed to a distance of seven kilometres outside Jau," Col Aguer told the Nation on Friday.
