Ranger gunned down in southern Thailand
A paramilitary ranger was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Yala province on Saturday morning. Ranger Banpot Meebun, 35, was riding motorcycle on a local road when gunman riding pillion on another motorcycle shot him three times with a pistol. The attacker then fled. The victim was taken to Yala hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police blamed separatist terrorists militants.
Villager shot and wounded
A villager was shot and seriously wounded in Yala province on Sunday morning, police said. Mamu Daeha, 40, was standing in front of his house when a gunman fired at him three times with a .38 mm pistol. The attacker then fled. Mamu was hit once and was admitted to Yala hospital.
