French convert to Islam gets two years sentence
PARIS: David Courtailler, a Frenchman who converted to Islam, was given two years in jail by a Paris court Tuesday for association with a terrorist organisation. The court immediately issued an arrest warrant for Courtailler, who was free on bail for the trial.
The 28 year-old were accused of belonging to a group, which organised military training for recruits in Afghanistan. During the trial prosecutors said that he had contact in 1998 with Jamal Zougam, one of the main suspects in the Madrid bombings in March.
