Work Accident GAS MAIN BOMBING - DALLAS SUBURB
Plano police believe the suspect was carrying an explosive device that blew up, causing minor damage to the gas main and leaving him critically injured.We dont know any of the whys, police spokesman David Tilley said. We dont know why he was back there, what type of device he had. Thats what were trying to figure out. That may have to wait until the suspect has recovered from the life-threatening injuries he suffered in the explosion. The man, who has yet to be identified, first told authorities that he was jogging and was struck by a hit-and-run driver, but that story quickly unraveled, Tilley said. His injuries to his body are all on the front of his body, he said. If you get hit by a car, youre going to have scratches, youre going have road rash, youre going to have something all over your body. He remains hospitalized at Medical Center of Plano. Meanwhile, the Plano police bomb squad and FBI agents are scouring the area, and Parker Road has yet to reopen.
