Obama bans Somalia charcoal import

The president said the trade generates "significant revenue" for al-Shabaab  ... the successor to the Islamic Courts... , a Somalia-based cell of Al Qaeda, Xinhua reported. That's gall: conducting a scorched earth policy and then making money from the burnoff. The cut-thoat group, branded as a terrorist group by the US and several other countries, controls large swathes of southern Somalia.
