MILF breakaways warn of fresh attacks in Mindanao
A top leader of breakaway Muslim terrorist rebel group Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) warned today of more fresh attacks as they expanded their controlled areas in Mindanao.
Abu Misri Mama, spokesman for the BIFF, said while the military has captured their main stronghold, Camp Omar, in days of fierce gunfighting in the province of Maguindanao, they have set up new base near Cotabato and at the headquarters of 6th Division in Datu Odin Sinsuat which also houses the airport.
Mama said, "In time we will launch our harassment, we are already near to our enemies. Civilians, whether Muslims, Christians or Indigenous Peoples, are residing near military detachments or headquarters, they can start evacuate so they will not be hurt in the crossfire."
The 1,000-strong BIFF is the armed wing of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement (BIFM) which broke away from the the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in 2010.
