Terrorist killed, 3 arrested in southern Thailand
terrorist militant was killed and three others arrested in a battle with government forces in Narathiwat province on Wednesday morning.
The clash occurred after a unit of soldiers laid siege to Ban Pattana Chart Thai village in Ruso district. The village was said to have been used as a shelter by
terrorists militants before launching terrorist activities. A group of terrorists militants hiding in the village opened fire at the soldiers. A gun battle followed for about 15 minutes.
After the incident, the soldiers found the dead body of a man, identified as Usman Ponae, and arrested three other suspects.
Four Thai soldiers injured by roadside bomb
Four soldiers providing security on a road for the arrival of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her entourage were injured by a bomb explosion in Narathiwat province on Wednesday morning.
Pol Col Kwandee Chimplee, Muang district police chief, said the incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. A bomb had been planted at the side of the road and went off when the four soldiers were ordered to go there to remove a cloth banner reading, "Thai soldiers are stupid".
