local sources said that violence acts broke out inside the central jail of Damar governorate between a number of custodies and security forces , pointing out that tear gas were used to end the chaos.
They spelt out that dozens of prisoners were maimed, affirming that others more fell unconscious.
Sources of the jail said that the prisoners protested as security forces took a prisoner, who faced a death sentence, to be executed.
The central prison of Dhamar witnessed violence acts in late 2011 and the beginning of 2012 as festivities broke out between security forces and prisoners in which seven persons were killed and dozens others were maimed.
Well-informed sources said that about 15 persons were killed and dozens others were maimed inside the jail since September 2011.
Committees formed by the government to probe the events have not disclose any outcomes or reasons of violence.
Policemen foiled in February a large-scale escape attempt by prisoners from the prison. There were several attempts of the prisoners to escape.
