1 killed, 2 wounded in attacks in southern Thailand
A villager was killed and two others injured in two separate incidents in Yala province on Sunday.

In the first incident, the body of a man, identified as Maruseng Mading, 18, was found on Yaha-Ban Niang road early Sunday morning. Maruseng was shot once in the torso. A motorcycle was found lying by his side. He was thought to have been shot by drive-by assailants late on Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

In Muang district, two women were attacked by two men who followed them on a motorcycle with pistols while travelling on another motorcycle along Yala-Betong road. Yaowamal Sukhanoen, 50, was hit in the back and her daughter Patchaya, 26, in the right thigh.

Couple shot, injured in Pattani

A man and his wife were shot and seriously injured while returning home from tapping rubber in Pattani province on Sunday morning.

While Somchit Sawangmek, 42, and his wife Kongsri Namnong-o, 46, were returning to their village from a rubber plantation on a motorcycle, they were followed by two men on another motorcycle. The two men opened fire at them with handguns, injuring both of them seriously.
