IEDs Kill 3 Civilians, 1 Police Officer in Helmand

Three civilians travelling in a car struck an improvised bomb (IED) in the road of Nad-e-Ali district's Lochak area early morning. All three were killed, the Helmand media office said in a statement.

A second blast happened in the same area only two kilometers away about an hour later when police were attempting to remove an IED in the area.

The IED went kaboom! and killed one police officer and injured two others, the media office said.

The Helmand governor strongly condemned the use of IEDs which kills innocent people.

It comes the same day that three civilians were maimed in an IED blast in eastern Nangarhar

The blast happened about 07:00 AM in the Pati Kot district of the province, when a civilian car was passing through the area, detonating the improvised bomb, said the provincial front man Ahmad Zia Abdulzai.
