US probes Halliburton payments to Nigeria
(Here we go again.....)US regulators have launched a formal investigation into allegations that a Halliburton joint venture paid bribes to win a multi-billion dollar construction project in Nigeria. The US Securities and Exchange Commission had requested information to determine whether Halliburton broke US laws against bribing officials abroad, the oil services company disclosed on Friday. It said it was also discussing the matter with the justice department . Halliburton said it was co-operating with the inquiry.
