Village official gunned down in southern Thailand

A female assistant village chief was gunned down in Pattani's Khok Pho district on Monday morning.

The attack occurred about 10:50 a.m. as Nukul Pandaeng, assistant chief of moo 7 in tambon Khuan Nuri was returning home on a motorcycle. Two men followed her on a motorcycle and the pillion rider opened fire at her with a pistol, killing her.
