Ricin found in letter to US Senate office
[FRANCE24] US mail authorities intercepted a letter bound for the Washington office of Senator Roger Wicker that contained the poison ricin, a Senate leadership aide said Tuesday.
The letter was detected during a routine inspection of mail at an off-site facility and did not reach the US Capitol or Wicker's office, the aide said, citing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who briefed lawmakers about the security breach.
The letter had a Memphis, Tennessee, postmark and no return address, Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Terrance Gainer wrote in an e-mail to senators and aides.
Sen. Claire McCaskill

told news hounds after a briefing for politicians that a suspect has already been identified in the incident, but a knowledgeable source said no one was in jug Tuesday night.
Wicker (R), the junior senator from Mississippi, has been assigned a protective detail, according to a law enforcement source.
