Government official from Galmudug Killed in Hobyo town
[Shabelle] News just in confirms that unknown gunnies rubbed out a top military commander of Galmudug...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth... state. The top commander of the troops based in Hobyo who died after being shot several times is known as Abdiweli Hirsi Fara badan. It is believed that sub clan rivalry was behind the murder of the commander as one of his body guards was also involved in the killing Troops from Galmudug state secured the scene of the crime quickly as security operations are currently inderway in the town.
