LEAs shoot bandit, arrest 20 in Karachi

Mobina Town police claimed to have arrested an alleged hit man Babu Bangali, son of Qadir Sheikh, wanted in the murder case of a Pakistain People's Party (PPP) worker Imran Butt.

Police officials arrested the suspect in a targeted raid carried out in Rajput Colony, an area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Police said that the accused killed PPP's worker along with his brother Babal Bangali and accomplices Anwar and Nanno in 2010 in Surjani Town. It is worth mentioning that the police nabbed the brother and accomplices after few months, however, Babu was in hiding.

Separately, Steel Town police patrol foiled a robbery bid after a brief encounter, and arrested one alleged robber in Surjani Town. Bandits started shooting to escape the scene, however in retaliatory firing one bandit Husnain sustained bullet injuries and was abandoned by his accomplices who fled.

Moreover, Rangers claimed to have held 17 notorious criminals including members of banned outfits and hit mans during raids in Ittehad Town, an area of Baldia Town and Liaquatabad. Officials also claim to have recovered huge caches of weapons, eight bombs and police uniforms from their possession.

Similarly, West zone police apprehended an alleged targeted killer Naveed alias Choto during a raid at Kunwari Colony, an area of Manghopir and recovered TT pistol, snatched police SMG and a cracker bomb from his custody. Police said that the accused is wanted in 16 cases of murder, including liquidation of six coppers.

In another foiled robbery bid, an alleged bandit Mohammad Gulab died and another escaped after a brief police encounter. Police also recovered a TT pistol from his custody.
