Pope Francis: Who am I to judge gay people?
 [BBC.CO.UK] Pope Francis has said gay people should not be marginalised but integrated into society. Speaking to reporters on a flight back from Brazil, he reaffirmed the Roman Catholic Church's position that homosexual acts were sinful, but homosexual orientation was not.You can't control your orientation, but there's lots you can do about what goes where and in whom. He was responding to questions about whether there was a "gay lobby" in the Vatican. "If a person is gay and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge them?" Ummm... You're the Pope. You're supposed to ponder questions like that. He also said he wanted a greater role for women in the Church, but insisted they could not be priests. Priests take a vow of chastity. That's supposed to mean they don't have congress with anyone, so they could occasionally fantasize over women, men, aardvarks, or even blow-up dolls. Lay persons take no vows of chastity. In most cases having a little unmarried whoopee isn't mortally sinful for them, I believe. That means the Church disapproves, but isn't of the opinion that you'll go to Hell for it.
