N.Korea Denies Sedition Plot
North Korea on Friday denied any involvement in an alleged sedition plot by United Progressive Party lawmaker Lee Seok-ki. Lee was arrested by the National Intelligence Service a day earlier on charges of plotting a pro-North Korean rebellion. The North's Committee for the Peaceful Unification of the Fatherland said, "The NIS and conservative forces are concocting a scheme to falsely accuse UPP members of treason and to link it" with Pyongyang. "It is a fabrication deliberately planned by those who do not want inter-Korean relations to improve and tensions to ease," the committee added.
