The pair arrived at Dover from the northern French port of Calais. They were held "on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism", the force said in a statement, adding that "the arrests relate to suspected terrorism overseas". "A quantity of ammunition has been seized," it said. Police carried out searches on an address in east London and on two cars.
