Russia won't guarantee chemical weapon disarmament in Syria
 Russia is not a guarantor of chemical weapon disarmament in Syria, the Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov said, RIA Novosti reported. Lavrov added that the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is the guarantor of this process, the report said.
"We have secured Syria's accession to the Chemical Weapons Convention, without any reservations - unlike the Americans, who have joined the Convention with reservations," the Minister said. "Now, Syria is a party of this legally binding document. Therefore the entire world community is the guarantor of Syria's fulfilment of its obligations under the convention. And in this case, the OPCW is this guarantor". Answering the question, whether the rates of chemical disarmament, taken by Russian and Damascus are inflated, Lavrov said that the rates were agreed with American colleagues in Geneva".
