Egypt judicial advisory body recommends dissolution of Brotherhood's FJP
[Al Ahram] Egypt's State Commissioners Authority, a body that advises the government on legal issues, recommended on Monday the dissolution of the Freedom and Justice party (FJP) - the political wing of the Moslem Brüderbund.The authority's report said that the prior decision, issued in June 2011 by the Political Parties Affair Committee, to accepted a request from the FJP's chairman Saad El-Katatni to form the party, is invalid. Hence the implications of such a decision are also invalid, added the report. The Authority's recommendations to the government are non-binding. On 23 September the Cairo court for urgent matters ordered the banning of the Moslem Brüderbund's activities. The court also ordered the interim government to seize the group's funds and establish a panel to administer its frozen assets until any appeal had been heard. On Monday, the Moslem Brüderbund appealed the court verdict ordering the seizing of the group's funds.
