ISF: Rubber Bullets Fired after Two Inmates Scuffled in Roumieh
[An Nahar] A scuffle broke out on Monday between two inmates in the Roumieh prison and security guards intervened to contain the situation, the Internal Security Forces announced in a statement."A personal dispute between two inmates at the convicts building of the central Roumieh prison erupted into a fistfight between a number of prisoners," the ISF said. "An anti-riot unit intervened and fire rubber bullets to restore security and order and calm soon returned to the prison," it added. The ISF said "six inmates were maimed in the scuffle -- two of them with rubber bullets that struck their feet and four suffered bruises and wounds as a result of the fighting and the stampede that ensued."
