Military Expert Defuses Explosives inside Car in Beirut's Dahieh

The army added: "Experts are working on dismantling the large amounts of explosives found in it and move the vehicle to a secure place." "The booby-trapped car was located in al-Maamoura-al-Mreije neighborhood of Beirut's southern suburbs," the state-run National News Agency said. "A military expert has dismantled the explosives found in it," it added. Al-Manar, meanwhile, said that a mobile phone connected to a cable was found in Dahieh's suspicious car. But the army's intelligence informed State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr that a large number of explosives was found in Dahieh's car. LBCI television said the bomb defused was estimated to weigh hundreds of kilograms. The explosives were dismantled and the car was pulled over from the scene, the army's intelligence told Saqr according to LBCI. LBCI added: "Judge Saqr tasked the army intelligence to investigate the case of the car and to keep him updated on the results of the probe." The NNA said earlier that security forces suspected a car in Beirut's Dahieh neighborhood.
