Karachi operation - LEAs nab 152 more suspects
 [Pak Daily Times] Law enforcers claimed to have held around 152 suspects including alleged hit mans belonging to political parties and Lyari ...one of the eighteen constituent towns of the city of Karachi. It is the smallest town by area in the city but also the most densely populated. Lyari has few schools, substandard hospitals, a poor water system, limited infrastructure, and broken roads. It is a stronghold of ruling Pakistan Peoples Party. Ubiquitous gang activity and a thriving narcotics industry make Lyari one of the most disturbed places in Karachi, which is really saying a lot.... gangsters during separate targeted raids across the city on Sunday. The officials recovered weapons from the possession of suspects. Elsewhere, two political workers were apprehended during a targeted raid conducted by Rangers in Abul Hassan Isphani locality. According to Rangers sources, the raid was conducted on a tip-off. Officials also recovered weapons from the suspects' possession. The law-enforcing agency did not disclose the identity of the detainees, or their political affiliation. The arrested persons have been shifted to Likewise, a notorious hit man, affiliated with Lyari gang war, was arrested during a targeted raid conducted by Rangers on Nishter Road. The accused was identified as Mansoor Baloch alias Bublee. According to Rangers' spokesperson, the accused was affiliated with the outlawed People's Aman Committee and was wanted by the law enforcement agencies in a number of criminal cases, including murder. Spokesperson also claimed to have recovered weapons including .22 rifle, 7mm rifle, 9mm pistol, mixed ammunition and narcotics from his possession. Separately, Karachi police claimed to have nabbed 73 alleged criminals including 42 absconders, 11 under arms ordinance, five under narcotics ordinance, 10 robbers and two murderers. According to Sindh police spokesperson, 18 weapons and narcotics were also recovered during the police actions for the prevention of crime. Similarly, district east police apprehended 16 alleged criminals including two absconders during targeted raids and snap checking and also claimed to have recovered nine pistols, four cell phones and two cycle of violences. As many as 48 alleged criminals, including 36 absconders were taken into custody by district west police. Police also claimed to have recovered weapons, including one repeater, six pistols, one dagger, four cycle of violences and narcotics from the possession of suspects. Police officials said that the accused was wanted for attacking and injuring a police constable, Shafiq. In another operation, two alleged criminals wanted by Karachi police in various cases of crime and terrorism were arrested from Swat. The accused persons were identified as Nawab and Ikram. According to police officials, the suspects were involved in various criminal cases in Karachi, including murders, attacks on law enforcement agencies and terrorism. The suspects hail from Swat ...a valley and an administrative district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistain, located 99 mi from Islamabad. It is inhabited mostly by Pashto speakers.
