Damascus Bombs, Mortar Fire Kill Three
[An Nahar] Twin bombings and mortar fire killed three people and maimed 22 near the Syrian capital's famed Ummayad mosque on Thursday, state news agency SANA reported."Three people were killed and 22 maimed in terrorist attacks with mortar rounds and the kaboom of two bombs," SANA said, citing police officials. The attacks took place on Mardam Bek Street and in the Kalassa district, near the outskirts of the historic mosque and the bustling Hamidiyeh market.
