Four blasts in three days rock southern Thailand
Following Sunday's triple bombing incident which injured 27 people, southern Thailand has been shaken again with no less than four bombings over the past three days. Eight people, including six policemen, have been wounded in the latest series of attacks which began on Tuesday.

The latest bombing, which happened yesterday, hit a sentry booth of a customs office near the Malaysia-Thailand border in the Tak Bai district, in Narathiwat province. A 40-year-old soldier manning the booth and a local resident were injured in the explosion.

A day earlier, an bombing occurred in the same district. The attacks are believed to target soldiers from the Narathiwat Special Task Force 31. The troops experienced a close call as that bomb exploded about 800 meters away from a police checkpoint along a road. The soldiers were patroling the area in pick-up trucks when the blast occurred.

On Tuesday, two policemen were wounded after a bomb exploded under their vehicle in Yala province. The bomb was stuffed inside a small cylinder and planted in a drainage pipe.

The bloodshed continued when another four policemen were wounded following an explosion in the same province on the same day.
