Thieves of Cars Used in Haret Hreik, Hermel Explosions Arrested

"Security forces detained both robbers of the cars used in Tuesday's kaboom and in Hermel's blast," al-Jadeed television reported. MTV confirmed the news, identifying the man who stole the car used in the Haret Hreik kaboom as Nabil Ahmed al-Moussawi. "The judicial police's International Anti-Theft Bureau arrested al-Moussawi," it said. Al-Jadeed later revealed that al-Moussawi confessed to stealing several Kia cars, among them the vehicle that was used in the Beirut suburb's kaboom. Future TV added: "Al-Moussawi confessed to stealing both the cars that went kaboom!in Hermel and Haret Hreik and revealed that he had sold them to Maher Tleis, who in turn took them to Syria." Later on Tuesday, al-Jadeed said "the relatives of the Kia cars' thief Nabil al-Moussawi have disavowed his acts and urged the state to inflict the maximum penalty on him."
