's political bureau warned Monday of "tragic consequences" for Paleostinian rights if the PLO continues negotiations with Israel.

Kayed al-Ghoul called on the PLO to cease negotiations and relying on the US, and he called for adopting an alternative strategy based on resisting the Israeli occupation.

Al-Ghoul said that a US-brokered meeting between Israelis and Paleostinians did not yield results did not mean the negotiations failed, but it means that Paleostinians are yet to submit to Israeli and American demands.

He added that "a policy of blackmail and threats" in these meetings reflected the US bias.
