US embassy employee escapes from kidnappers
[Libya Herald] A female Libyan employee at the US embassy in Tripoli...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... who was kidnapped last night beat feet from her captors and found her way to a hospital today. "We had reports that one of our locally-hired employees was kidnapped last night, during off-duty hours," a spokesperson for the US embassy told the Libya Herald. "It is our understanding that she was able to escape and is now recovering." Reports circulating on social media networks suggested the woman had gunshot wounds to the leg.
