Chicago Easter weekend update: 9 KIA / 35 WIA
[Sun-Times Media Wire] April 21, 2014 (CHICAGO) -- Easter weekend was no holiday from violence, with shootings claiming the lives of nine across Chicago and leaving 35 wounded, including five children Sunday night. The five children were shot about 7:40 p.m. in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting in the 6600 block of South Michigan Avenue, authorities said. An 11-year-old girl in serious-to-critical condition and a 15-year-old girl in fair-to-serious condition were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, according to Fire Media Affairs. Sad, very sad.
