Student beaten to death over cricket
[Dhaka Tribune] A student was killed at Hakimpur village under Dadpur union in Sadar upazila yesterday.The dear departed was identified as Jahid Hossain, 15, son of Mohiuddin. He was a student of Class 9 of Ramballavpur High School. Mosharof Hossain Tarafder, officer-in-charge of Sudharam model cop shoppe, quoting the locals and relatives said Jahid had been playing cricket with Mamun, son of Sahabuddin of the village and other local friends. At one stage, Mamun quarreled with Jahid over the game and beat him mercilessly with a cricket bat, leaving him unconscious. He died while he was being rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
