Yemen forces kill 2 Saudi militants: Defense Ministry
[Iran Press TV] Yemeni army troops have killed two Saudi members of al-Qaeda in the south of the country, the Defense Ministry says.The ministry said on its website on Saturday that the Yemeni soldiers killed "two Saudi terrorists, Ibrahim Hamad and Ahmed al-Harbi," in the town of Azzan, in Shabwah province. The army forces said they captured Azzan after carrying out an operation on April 29 but sporadic festivities continued with bully boyz still holed up in houses there, witnesses said. The focus of the army's offensive has been on the provinces of Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirateafter seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues... , Shabwah, and the neighboring province of al-Bayda. Jane elbowed her in the face in rebuttal... a military official was quoted by Yemeni media as saying that "Al-Qaeda members are still being hunted" and the operation "will continue until they are cleared."
