Ten detained in Moscow terror plot
Russia's Interior Ministry announced Thursday that it had detained ten individuals who were planning a terrorist attack in the Moscow region on Victory Day. The suspects, residents of the Moscow region from Dagestan, were detained on the morning of May 7 after an improvised explosive device was uncovered at their residence, according to the ministry website.

The ministry said it had received information about the individuals' acquisition of materials to build an improvised explosive device on the eve of the May holidays. Security agents also seized large amounts of religious literature at the suspects' residence, including books contained on the Justice Ministry's list of extremist materials banned in the country. Maps detailing the location of Victory Day celebrations in the Moscow region were also found.

The Interior Ministry said in its statement that the organizer and conspirators of the thwarted attack had confessed, and that a criminal case had now been opened on charges of conspiracy to commit a terrorist act.
