Iraq army retakes most parts of Tal Afar
[Iran Press TV] The Iraqi army has retaken control of most districts in a strategic city in Nineveh province, local media reports say.According to the reports on Monday, the Iraqi army managed to regain control of most parts of the city of Tal Afar. This comes while throughout the day there were contradictory reports about who controls Tal Afar which sits on a main highway linking Nineveh province to Syria. The army also released footage of air raids against bully boy positions and hideouts in Salahuddin and Nineveh provinces. According to the army, the strikes have been effective and successful. According to some reports earlier in the day, Death Eaters from the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant ... the current version of al-Qaeda in Iraq, just as blood-thirsty and well-beloved as the original... (ISIL) took Tal Afar on Sunday morning. Iraqi security sources have categorically denied reports that the city has fallen to the bully boys. Al-Qaeda-affiliated groups such as the so-called ISIL have been behind many of the deadly kabooms targeting both civilians and government institutions across Iraq in recent years.
