AQIM kidnapper escapes Mali prison
[MAGHAREBIA] The leader of a Bamako prison break was involved in kidnappings claimed by al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), AFP quoted Malian sources as saying on Tuesday (June 17th).A guard and a prisoner were killed when a dozen prisoners escaped on Monday. The inmates included Mohamed Ali Ag Wassouden, who participated in the abduction of two French nationals from a hotel in 2011. Philippe Verdon was executed by AQIM last year.
