Sharia Law in Philadelphia Results in Chopping off of Mans Hand
On Monday, a 46-year-old man who was reportedly accused by two leaders of a Philadelphia mosque of stealing jars of money from the mosque had his hand chopped with a machete, requiring hospital treatment.
Police reports stated that the two men responsible for the assault were the mosques imam and amir. They were accused of dragging the victim to the rear of the mosque, where the machete deeply lacerated his right wrist. Medics transported the victim to a hospital close by.
Police descended on the mosque in Philadelphias Overbrook section on Thursday and arrested Merv Mitchell, aka Mabul Shoatz. They also found a 2-foot-long machete. The other Muslim leader, the imam, who is 35, has not yet been apprehended.
The police charged Mitchell with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and related offenses.
