Unknown Military jet strikes Al Shabaab base in Jilib town
According to residents, several people died and about 8 others were injured after unknown military warplane pounded Al Shabaab base in Jilib town of Middle Juba region.

The witnesses told Shabelle Media that the warplane targeted Asho-Nera area, a stronghold of Al Shabaab, injuring 8 people including 4 young children. The impoverished town is a key Al-Shabaab hub in southern Somalia's Middle Juba region, some 320 kilometres southwest of Mogadishu.

It was not immediately clear where the jets were from, but Kenya is part of the AU force and has used its air planes to strike Al-Shabaab bases before.
