Irish national killed in Riyadh
An Irish engineer has been killed in his office in the Saudi capital Riyadh, diplomatic and police sources say. "We can confirm independently that there has been a shooting," a Western diplomat said on Tuesday, adding that the man, who has not been named, was Irish and was shot in his office in eastern Riyadh."We lack information on motive or circumstances," the diplomat said.
A security source said police found the man, who was shot at around 6.30 p.m. (4:30pm British time), was a civil engineer who worked for a Saudi firm.The Irish foreign ministry had no official comment and Saudi officials were not available to comment.
