Two Shia areas attacked in Baghdad, 15 killed
[Iran Press TV] Car bombings on the main streets of two Shia neighborhoods of Baghdad have left at least 15 people dead and more than 40 others injured.

Iraqi Police and medical sources said the kabooms took place in the capital's large northern neighborhood of Sadr City and the al-Amin neighborhood, further east, almost simultaneously on Wednesday.

At around 7:00 p.m. (1600 GMT), a blast destroyed a gas station in Sadr City as cars were waiting to fill up, witnesses said.

According to hospital and police sources, at least nine people were killed in the kaboom.

"There were maimed people shouting and bodies on the ground," said a witness.

The other deadly blast which occurred five minutes earlier killed six people in al-Amin.

"A boom-mobile went kaboom! at 6:55 p.m. on the main street in the Al-Amin area," a police colonel said on condition of anonymity.
