2 suspects of police officer's murder killed in shootout
 [Dhaka Tribune] Two suspects in the case of police officer Nurul Islam's murder were killed, while one other was injured, during a shootout with law enforcers on Sunday in Mirzapur upazila, Tangail.Sources said police acted on a tip-off and raided the residence of Azizur Rahman Babu in South Tatkia Kadma Ghonapara village toarrest Ulka, the prime suspect in the case. Spider senses tingling at the proximity of police, Ulka and his associates shot up them, triggering the shootout. At one stage of the shootout, Ulka was shot and died instantly around 4am, said Akhtaruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Tangail Model cop shoppe. Two of Ulka's associates — Shahed and Sagar alias Dollar — sustained bullet injuries as well, he said. Shahed, shot in his eye, and Sagor, shot in his leg, were rushed to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital in a critical condition and later shifted to Tangail Medical College and Hospital. Of them, Shahed died on Wednesday, confirmed Saleh Mohammed Tanvir, superintendent of police. Earlier on July 25, criminals shot and injured Nurul Islam, 30, an assistant sub-inspector at Tangail Model cop shoppe, when he was conducting a drive to arrest Ulka.
