Nixon criticizes Ferguson police for releasing Michael Brown 'robbery' video
[Iran Press TV] The governor of Missouri has taken a swipe at the Ferguson police for releasing to the public a video allegedly showing Michael Brown robbing a store before being killed in a police shooting.

Michael Brown was an 18-year-old unarmed African American who was shot multiple times by a police officer and killed last Saturday.

Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson, who has acknowledged that the shooting death of Brown was not related to the robbery, released the video on Friday.

Earlier, US justice Department had also warned police not to release the video.

Jay Nixon now said in several talk shows that he "deeply" disagreed with the decision to release the video.

"We certainly were not happy with that being released, especially in the way that it was," Nixon said. "It appeared to cast dispersions on a young man that was bumped off in the street. It made emotions raw," said Nixon while appearing on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos.
