Chuck Todd: Obama on Verge of 'Jimmy Carter-Like Damage' to Dems

's unpopularity did. A new Wall Street Journal-NBC News poll shows that Republicans are overwhelmingly favored by Americans on sustaining a strong U.S. national defense. On MSNBC's Morning Joe, show host Joe Scarborough said Obama's favorability has suffered "because he's been seen as dragging his feet on this crisis." Scarborough was referring to Obama's muddied response to ISIS, an Islamic terrorist network based in Syria and Iraq that has grabbed credit for beheading two American journalists. "It's not just him, it's actually impacting the entire Democratic Party," Todd said. "He's on the precipice of doing Jimmy Carter-like damage to the Democratic brand on foreign policy."
