Iranians believe IS was invented by America
[9NEWS.AU] Many ordinary Iranians believe their leader's rhetoric that the United States invented the terrorist group Islamic State to counter Iran's growing influence in the region. Last week Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said he believes America created IS as a ploy to re-establish a foothold in Iraq and fight Syrian president Bashir al-Assad, Iran's ally. "We have evidence now, we know," Ayatollah Khamenei reportedly told a gathering of holy mans. The New York Times ...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... Tehran bureau chief has since cited numerous examples of ordinary Iranians convinced that America is involved. And yesterday Iranian state television ... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe? claimed to show images of US Republican Senator  John MaverickMcCain ... the Senator-for-Life from Arizona, former presidential candidate and even more former foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution... meeting with His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi ...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us... , the caliph of IS. Ayatollah Khamenei has previously alleged that al-Qaeda and the Taliban were also devised by the West as a counterweight to Iran. US President Barack Obama I inhaled. That was the point... today announced he will escalate an aerial bombing campaign aimed at destroying IS.
