The killing is the latest in rising militant attacks in the restive Sinai Peninsula
[Al Ahram] An Egyptian civilian was shot and killed by person or persons unknown Thursday, taking the number of people killed in 24 hours up to three, a security source told Aswat Masriya news website. The source said the killing took place in Al-Arish city in the restive Sinai Peninsula. Egypt has witnessed a wave of krazed killer attacks, mainly targeting security forces but sometimes civilians as well, since the ouster of Islamist president Mohammed Morsi last year.
