PTI-backed Dogar triumphs as Hashmi concedes NA-149 by-poll
[DAWN] Independent candidate Malik Amir Dogar, backed by Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations.... (PTI), defeated senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi on Thursday in the much anticipated by-election for NA-149 (Multan), which fell vacant after the latter's resignation from the seat on August 18. According to unofficial and unconfirmed results of all 286 polling stations, Dogar defeated Hashmi by a margin of more than 10,000 votes.
