Hamas unhappy with UN's rebuilding plan
[ARABNEWS] The Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, Lion of Islam group says it opposes a UN reconstruction plan for the Gazoo Strip following a 50-day war against Israel this summer.Hamas front man Sami Abu Zuhri ...a senior spokesman for Hamas. Zuhri gained notoriety in 2006 when he dropped his money belt containing somewhere between 640,000 and 900,000 euros, which was confiscated by Paleostinian security and customs officials at a routine border crossing from Egypt to Gaza. The news brought competing Hamas and Fatah forces to the crossing checkpoint for an epic face-making and hollering contest... on Sunday called the UN mechanism "unacceptable, inefficient." The UN announced the plan in September, creating a system to bring in badly needed reconstruction materials while sidelining Hamas. Despite its unhappiness with the system, Abu Zuhri gave no indication that Hamas will disrupt the shipments. Hamas had remained silent about the plan since UN envoy Robert Serry announced it in September. Serry recently brought in $30 million donated by Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates... to pay thousands of Hamas civil servants who have not received salaries in months.
