Tim Scott rolls to historic S.C. landslide
 [POSTANDCOURIER] Republican U.S. Sen. Tim Scott has easily defended his seat in Tuesday's election as the GOP predicts he'll be the single biggest vote-getter in a contested race in the state.The Associated Press called the race at 7:04 p.m., four minutes after the polls closed. Party leaders are pointing to the historic nature of the 2014 election. Scott, of Hanahan, would become the first black candidate elected to statewide office here since Reconstruction, and he would be the first black member of the Senate elected from South Carolina. Nationally, Scott is just the fifth African-American elected to the U.S. Senate in the nation's history. He faces Democrat Joyce Dickerson and American Party candidate Jill Bossi.
