Two security officers killed in Peshawar blast
PESHAWAR - Two security officers were killed and six others sustained injuries in a bomb blast here on Friday.
According to sources, the explosion took place when a mobile of security forces reached at Ghari Mustajaab. The mobile was on its way to Warsak from Peshawar, killing two personnel and injuring six others including two security officers. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for medical assistance.
According to Superintendent Police Shakirullah Bangash, the bomb planted on a motorcycle was remotely detonated as a security forces' pick-up truck passed by it. He further said that terrorists have resorted to such cowardly acts as their backs are broken after the successful military operation in North Waziristan tribal region.
According to experts of Bomb Disposal Squad, it was a five kilogram remote-controlled bomb planted in a cycle of violence bike parked on the roadside to target a patrolling party of paramilitary troops.
