Philippine troops storm Abu Sayyaf camp
Philippine security forces stormed an Abu Sayyaf camp on the island province of Basilan, killing three and injuring eight others.
Captain Maria Rowena Muyuela said seven soldiers were also injured, one seriously, in the encounter that occurred in a remote village in the town of Tipo-Tipo on Thursday morning.
One of those killed was identified as Abdullah Kalifot, who carried a $12,000 bounty on his head for nine counts of murder and a jail escape. Muyuela said, "Kalifot was the henchman of Abu Sayyaf leader Nurhasan Jamiri in Basilan, who escaped from the provincial jail on December 31, 2010."
