Rocket attack targets US forces on Yemen base
Al Qaeda affiliates fired rockets at Yemen's largest military airbase Thursday, saying they were aiming at US targets at the facility. Ansar al Sharia claimed responsibility for the attack, tweeting that its fighters targeted the US section within Al Anad airbase in retaliation for US attempts to rescue American hostage Luke Somers.Yemeni Defense Ministry officials said six rockets were fired at the airbase. They said that some Yemeni troops were injured. A rocket exploded near an oil storage facility, which resulted in a fire but no major damage.
