Al Rashid trust put on false nose, glasses, stayed in business
The United States has blocked the finances of a further nine individuals and a re-named organization reportedly based in Pakistan that had been black-listed earlier. The Pakistan-based organization, Al Rashid Trust, was among the first organizations named by the US as a "financial facilitator of terrorists". The organization was said to have changed its name to The Aid Organization of the Ulema (AOU) and to have allegedly remained active. The AOU, the US charges, is headquartered in Pakistan, and continues to operate offices there. "They have been raising funds for the Taliban since 1999". The designation of the organization on the new list signifies "capture" of the re-named office and identifies additional locations of other branch offices in Pakistan.
